Wish List
What is on your Half Life 3 wish list? Besides the obvious response, “I just wish it gets released.”, what content do you want added in the next HL installment? Do you want to see Half-Life 2: Episode 3 as promised years ago, or would you rather have a full-length feature that is Half Life 3?
The possibilities seem endless for what HL3 could be. First, we have the story line. There are many unanswered questions brought upon by Episode’s 2 ending, that it seems natural to continue where it left off. Where should this story take us? What questions, if any, do you want answered?
Bring back the Crowbar. Valve did a great job introducing the gravity gun in the last series, but they left out the staple to Gordon’s arsenal, the crowbar. I wish they will bring back the crowbar in the next game. Nothing beats a person better than a crowbar over the noggin.
Source 2 anyone? An updated Source Engine is definitely needed. Should Valve release Half-Life 2: Episode 3 before HL3, then I wouldn’t mind seeing Episode 3 on an updated Source Engine. I think Half Life 3 would be great to release on a completely new Source 2 Engine.

I would like to see multiple endings in Half-Life 3, including a “best” ending where a monument of Gordon has been created.
Hmmm. Better physics on the vehicles (and better throttle/brake controls on the consoles)
Not being relegated to collecting all of the weapons again (what’s the betting it starts with a helicopter crash?!)
Bug bait and antlion buddies again- so much fun
But yes- a bigger game for our waiting and some closure on G-man, the borealis and the advisors.

But mainly just more Half Life and a story that at least lives up to the plot so far
I think if they do intend to make an Episode 3 that it should be included onto HL3 as a prequel. Otherwise, I would prefer they just skip it and continue straight to HL3.
I would like to see more of the great atmosphere that was in both the first and second games. From the labs of HL1 to the many environments of HL2(especially City 17 and Ravenholm).
Im hoping that they do in fact release it on a new, or at least well updated engine. Good graphics would just add to the awesome that is Half Life.
I’d like to see some new gameplay innovations. Half Life was amazing at the time of its release and revolutionised the genre. Half Life 2 brought physics and amazing graphics to the frontline and Valve really pushed the gravity gun to the edge of its awesomeness. Episode 2 had open environments which with the car was also awesome. Portal brought us the portal gun. I’d like to see something as inventive as these releases, something I haven’t played before. That’s what Half Life is I think, it pushes the boundaries of what you expect from a videogame and wraps it up in a highly enjoyable experience.
If there were time travelling aspects, I’d love to be able to fight in the 7 hour war. Maybe alittle extra dimention zero grav gameplay too? I imagine Valve could do some really mind blowing stuff with that.
I was 9 when I started playing Half Life. Now at 21 I need my Half Life fix. I’m willing to wait for perfection however.
At the end, Gordon should look dead into the camera, and shout “Balls.”
And why should he?
-Definitely more open environments like there were in Ep. 2
-More exposition on what the Advisors are
-Closure on what the chuffing hell happened to Dr. Breen
-New breeds of Combine Soldiers
-No more new characters, the ones that we have are just fine and dandy
-Finding out what happened to the Borealis
-Half-Life/Portal crossover
I just want half life release.
What I expect from Half-Life 3?
- At least 60 hours of gameplay; we’ve been expecting this for almost a decade
- With Vortigaunts help Gordon goes in a paradox dimension (the Combine Overworld) where the Advisors are currently fighting a space-time war with the Borealis and it’s commander (Doug Rattman from a parallel dimension)
- The G-Man is one of the Advisors
- GlaDOS get a big part in the plan to make the Earth free again (maybe breaking into the citadel central core with gordon and Chell doing the ‘dirt’ part of the work)
I just think a Half Life 3 that involves the continued plotline from Episode 2 will be a good’en – obviously with added information and a whole new plot for a whole new game. More about G-man would be awesome, also, but as long as the episodic plot is picked up within the ‘game-line’ of Half Life 3, I’ll be happy.

In Portal 2 ‘TRAVELS IN TIME’ is mentioned in several times. Carl Johnson says that its not ready yet, and every people that use it loses the skin.
There’s more, if you search for the “Last Ratman trasmission”, you’ll hear “The Ship’s gone, i fail”.
I think that he (the ratman), use to work in this project, and then, when the borealis leaves Aperture, it really travels in time, and every people on it dies.
So, the borealis is lost in time (in the past), with this technology, and some people (like GMan), have the control of this, and use it to change the past.
My reasoning, is that, in the future, humanity lose, and the combine has the control of every human.
But, some people found this technology of travels in time, and use it to go back, and use gordon freeman, and other people, to win the war.
I think that, in half life 3 (or ep3), the combine tries to find this technology, but you must destroy it.
At the end of episode 2, eli vance tells you that you must destroy the technology in borealis, but he doesn’t say, what technology.
I don’t think that you’ll find the portal gun.
But i do think, that you will find this technology of travels in time.
